
I searched and searched, for this recipe, from my school days. I tested, tried, tasted, flopped, and fretted, multiple recipes, until I came up with this.. The Peanut Butter Chews, from school, had just a glaze, with no pb, on the top.. these are so good, though.. Peanut Butter Chews
Preheat Oven to 375F degrees
In a large mixing bowl:
1 cup butter
3/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Mix in separate bowl:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
Add dry to wet. Mix together. Add 2 cups quick cooking oats.
Bake 30-35 minutes in 9×13 cake pan
Frost while warm and cool before eating.
Frosting:
1 pound confectioner’s sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
Few drops of milk to make spreading consistency
